The quick-thinking of a St. Petersburg’s, Florida bartender saved a young woman from an awkward or potentially dangerous situation. The young woman shared a photo on her Twitter account (@TrinityAllies) sharing details of the incident. On June 13, 2021, the young woman was handed a clipboard with a piece of paper attached that looked like a receipt. The note included a message that said, “If this guy is bothering you, put your ponytail on your other shoulder, and I will have him removed.” The tweet instantly went viral. Twitter users shared the tweet over 47,000 times.
The young woman posted her thoughts about the touching moment on Twitter. She tweeted, ” Legit the type of bartender everyone needs.” The young woman also confirmed that the man was removed from the bar. The bartender was forced to yell at the man who was surprisingly offended by the act of aggression. She wrote, ” He ended up having to literally yell at the guy. He said, ” you need to get away from these girls who clearly are not interested.” The dude said, ” That was a little aggressive” And he said,” Well you’re aggressively hitting on them and you need to leave.” The heroic moment that was captured in the viral photo was taken afterward. As a sign of appreciation, the young woman asked the bartender to reenact the moment. It comes as no surprise that the young woman’s tweet went viral. Sexual harassment is a common occurrence, especially, in situations where alcohol is involved. Twitter users were happy to see the overly flirtatious man get what he deserved. One user posted a tweet saying,” I hate guys who harass you and then act like you’re the one out of line when you blow up at them.”
The bartender identified himself by replying to the tweet 4 days after the tweet went viral. Max Guiterrez is the heroic bartender who saved the women. He works for the bar and restaurant called No vacancy located in St.Petersburg, Florida. Gutierrez gave further commentary on the event through the social news site, Reddit. Gutierrez noticed that the guy was giving off weird vibes so kept an eye on him. He gave the man a benefit of a doubt, but after the young woman confirmed the man was bothering her he took action. Gutierrez commented saying, ” I honestly don’t like yelling at customers or embarrassing people, but I find it’s one of the best ways to handle creeps. He also added, ” I just don’t need my guests feeling uncomfortable.” The young woman and Guiterrez were asked to make appearances on various media outlets to further comment about the incident. Gutierrez’s quick thinking saved the young woman’s night and set an example for bartenders across the globe.
