Many people all around the world have to have a tough conversation with their kids every day but sometimes it does not go quite as well as they hope. Such is the case with a 14-year-old kid who just recently found out that he was adopted. It’s not clear if he was able to figure it out for himself or if his folks told him but the assumption is it’s the latter. In any case, as soon as he knew the truth about where he came from, he began to act much more erratic than usual and exhibited murderous tendencies. In fact, his cousin Daisy McCarty began to notice his strange behavior after he discovered the truth about his lineage. He started to take out his ire on poor defenseless animals and in some cases would even burn them alive. At one point, reports say he even broke into the school and tried to cause a brouhaha. All of this rage came to a head a week after he learned the truth about what happened to his biological mother who had passed away back in 2010.
He was able to get his hands on a gun and resolved to use this weapon to murder the rest of his family. Once he had procured a firearm, he turned the gun on every family member and shot them all. Among the victims were a 6-month-old baby and a female and male child aged 5 and 6 respectively. He also killed his stepmom and father who had gotten full custody of him a year after his biological mother passed away. As you can imagine, this came as a huge shock to the community who never thought this type of tragedy would occur in their neighborhood. When the cops came, he confessed to the murders & was taken into custody to stand trial for his crimes. As it states in Alabama law, any juvenile facing trial can only be given a maximum sentence of prison time until they turn 21 but, if he is tried as an adult, he could be facing a much longer time behind bars. It is not clear yet if the prosectors will be pushing for him to be tried as an adult but given the severity of the crime, they very well could.
Of course, even if they do, the judge will still have to sign off on it. It is not yet clear where he got the gun from but authorities are still attempting to locate the murder weapon at this time. The crime took place at the family’s home in a small town known as Elkmont. This all happened on ridge road & the locals were quite taken aback by this. As he awaits trial, he remains in jail & despite his actions, is assisting the police in the search for the murder weapon, a 9mm handgun. He has not said whether he regrets his actions but the fact that he is helping them is a sign that he may be starting to feel remorse. It is not known if he plans to plead guilty or not but based on the fact that he confessed, it seems to be a pretty safe bet. Now he will face justice for what he has done.
